Liner notes
Here it is at last, the long overdue follow-up CD to New Orleans Delight's last years release from the Swingin' Copenhagen Jazz Festival '98, which featured Annie Hawkins and Ken Pye.

And this time the band has done it again with success. Bringing over from the UK to join the band for this years festival another well-known British Jazz-musician, the versatile pianist Mike Lunn, who seems to fit into the band like he had been a member for a long time, allthough it is only the second time that he appears with the band.

Mike Lunn is a very welcome addition to the band, and he shows his knowledge and love to the real New Orleans music as performed on this CD, where also the band's regular members seem to enjoy having their good friend along on the piano stool for this session recorded live at the Jazzhouse Vognporten, one of the few remaining places in Copenhagen, where you still may hear this kind of music.

You are in for some very pleasant listening: Melodious hymns, South American rhytms and well known standard-tunes, which are the 'trade-mark' of the band, which is becoming more and more popular as well in Denmark as in the neighbouring countries, for which the future gig-list is a most certain proof.

Mail to the band:

A Christmas miracle happened here in Canada.
The "Royal Mail" brought me two great cds.

The music: sensational! Your reeds wonderful, trombone, "gutsy", true to Jim Robinson and his like. You have here, sir, something that there is not much of in the U.S.A."festivals', and that is an exciting, very musical, true to New Orleans group. I think you had better try to get into some of those festivals. They bring the likes of Paris Washboard, Allotria from Munich, Charivari Jazz Band Ball from Poland, and others but NOT your style. The band many people thought was a terrific New Orleans style band was CLINT BAKER'S J.B. from California. Some talented guys, but really no "zest", no "life", and it immediately went "down the tubes"... Your musicians make this "exhalted" band look like amateurs... I esimate that 90 percent of all U.S. bands play in the Condon Chicago style... very little of the real New Orleans... Marvelous cds..
Enough said. Thank you Thank You,Kjeld, your music is warming our hearts in cold Snowy Canada...
