Hans Pedersen

Played classical piano as a child, but switched, to his neighbours regret, to electric guitar, drums and persistent boogie-woogie piano in his early teens. Was influenced then by Swedish night radio, with fine jazz and Leif "Smokerings" hoarse voice.

In High Scool he and others started a popular jazz band, that became the regular band at school parties. This lead to other gigs.

Formed in the late 70's "New Orleans Swingsters" with Kurt Jensen and three Swedish musicians with regular gigs in Elsingore and Sweden. Next was "Peter Nissens NO Band", where he for many years was the regular piano player.

Hans has been anchor-man in Frihedens Swingband, Olsens Hotband, Lars Stiigvad Quartet, Lise West Blue Band, Creole Jazztrio, Swing Syndicatet and others and he has played together with many guesting New Orleans musicians and gospel singers.

His style is influenced by stride piano and ragtime - and the NO piano player Don Ewell.
