Lee Gunness live at Femø 2004

We are proud to announce this forthcoming CD release with some of the finest Gospel music, delivered by an international star band.

The CD was recorded live in a big tent at the Danish Femoe jazz festival in the summer of 2004. It was one of the first concerts on a Scandinavian tour (reviews) the Australian singer Lee Gunness and the German trompeter Norbert Susemihl did with the Scandinavian band New Orleans Delight.

The repetoire is a blend of Gospel, Spirituals and Hymns. Lee Gunness' great gospel voice reminds you of Mahelia Jackson and Lillian Boutté, and in fact they were Lee's first source of inspiration many years ago in Australia. Since then Lee has performed together with Lillian Boutté in Germany and many other places.

The regular band members are Kjeld Brand (cl), Bengt Hansson (tb), Hans Pedersen (p), Erling Lindhardt (bjo), Stefan Kärfve (b) and Claus Lindhardt (dr). Recording and mixing is done by Jørgen Vad. Liner notes by Marcel Joly.

Gregg Stafford in Hillerød

One of the greatest living legends within New Orleans jazz, the trompeter and singer Gregg Stafford, is now captured on a live CD from a concert in Hillerød in 2004. (Review). He is in good company with his old buddy, trombone player and band leader Brian Towers from Canada and the Scandinavian New Orleans Delight.

The concert was held in a warm atmosphere since Gregg had many personal friends among the audience due to his long term cooperation with Carlsberg Brassband. Many of the tunes were dedicated to special friends in relation to particular events in the past. Gregg also felt well at home in the band, probably because he played with all the
musicians some years before.

The Hillerød concert came in the middle of a 10 day tour in Denmark and Sweden
(Reviews), many of the gigs being church concerts. The repetoire on this CD, however, is traditional New Orleans jazz standards, as Gregg is used to play them back home in Preservation Hall.

The regular band members are Kjeld Brand (cl), Hans Pedersen (p), Erling Lindhardt (bjo), Stefan Kärfve (b) and Claus Lindhardt (dr). Recording and mixing is done by Jørgen Vad. Liner notes by Marcel Joly
